How do I add multi-factor authentication?
Multi-factor authentication is an additional check when you try to log into your account. This provides extra security. If, for instance, someone else is trying to log into your account, the person will first need the verification code sent to your phone to log in. In this article, we will explain how you can set your phone number for multi-factor authentication.
Step 1: My account
In the top right corner, click on the icon with your initials. Next, click on ‘My account’.
Step 2: Multi-factor authentication
Switch on the toggle ‘Use multi-factor authentication'.
Step 3: Register your phone number
Click on ‘Register’.
Password: Enter your current password.
Phone number: Enter your phone number, for which you would like to receive the authentication code. First, click on the grey button, to the left of ‘Please enter your phone number’, a dropdown will appear, select your country. Now, you can enter your phone number.
Verification: A verification token is sent to the number you entered in the previous step. Now, enter this code.
Save: Your registration is complete. You successfully added multi-factor authentication to your account. Click on the blue ‘Save’ button.
Step 4: Login
In ‘My account’, you should now be able to see the last four digits of your registered number, below the ‘Use multi-factor authentication’ toggle. The next time you log in, you will see the following page:
Tip: Use Authy to secure your multi-factor authentication. Authy is a free app for your mobile and desktop. Check out their site for more information.
Required Multi-Factor Authentication
There is also the possibility to set up a required MFA. After activation of this feature, all users of an organisation are required to set up MFA, before being able to continue in our platform. This provides an extra layer of security for logging in to Mopinion. It requests at least 2 ways to prove the right identity, for example, a password and a text message. The admin of an organization can set this up.
