How to connect Mopinion to Google Analytics

Where to find the GA4 integration

The Mopinion Google Analytics integration can be turned on per form. In the form builder, open the form for which you want the Mopinion events to be tracked in Google Analytics. Go to the INTEGRATION step. Toggle the option (A) Google Analytics on.

The options (B) Customize Tracking ID and (C) Push posted feedback to Google Analytics will appear.

By default, the integration will detect your tracking ID on your page. If you use multiple tracking IDs you can specify the tracking ID that the integration needs to use by toggling (B) Customize Tracking ID. If you only use 1 tracking ID on your page this setting is not required.

If you want to track on our public landing page, for example when using email feedback, you have to set your GA4 tracking ID at (B) Customize Tracking ID.

When (A) Google Analytics is toggled the standard Mopinion events are tracked. If you also want to track the answers to the questions in a form you have to toggle the (C) Push posted feedback to Google Analytics.

Which events can be tracked?

Feedback data

(C) Push posted feedback to Google Analytics needs to be turned on.

After an initial post three custom dimensions need to be created based on the User Property/Parameters mop_feedback_value, mop_form_name and mop_feedback_question before the actual feedback can tracked in the reporting.

Before you can track which form fired an event you have to configure the custom dimension for the User Property/Parameter mop_form_name.

How to configure the custom dimensions?

In Google Analytics go to ADMINCustom definitions.

Select Create custom dimension. (A) Select one of the three Mopinion Event parameters mop_feedback_value, mop_form_name, and mop_feedback_question. Give the dimension a (B) name and (C) Description. (D) Leave the scope set at Event.

Do this for each of the three Event parameters, mop_feedback_value, mop_form_name, and mop_feedback_question.

Throughout the explanation, we use the terminology below, which can differ from your naming convention.
