Do the Mopinion feedback forms comply with WCAG guidelines?

The Mopinion web and email feedback forms comply with the WCAG2.1-AA guidelines of the W3C. The Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) is an internationally recognised technical standard that ‘makes web content more accessible to people with disabilities’. Our forms arrange the correct level of contrast. Forms are constructed so that screen readers will correctly read the forms aloud. You can find our accessibility statement on https://mopinion.com/legal/policies/accessibility/.

In this article, you will find more information on how to fine-tune WCAG styling to your feedback forms.

Style the focus

In your feedback form, under Design → Form → Accessibility, select the focus style and outline color. With the option ‘Dashed' or ‘Solid' selected, your forms will have a WCAG-required focus outline. By default, the 'Dashed' style is selected. Additionally, you can modify the color of the outline.

When using the Tab / Shift + Tab to navigate with the keyboard through the feedback form, you will see the outline on the element that has focus.

Set the logo alternative text

In the header, you can upload an image.

Depending on the image, you can set your own contextual, appropriate alternative text. This option is to comply with success criterion 1.1.1: Non-text Content.

What are the WCAG Guidelines?

The twelve guidelines included in the WCAG are organised under four principles: perceivable, operable, understandable, and robust – all of which enable users with disabilities to use the web content.

Under these principles, some guidelines must be followed by WCAG-compliant software companies:

  • Perceivable: Content must be perceivable (e.g. providing text alternatives for any non-text content)

  • Operable: User interface (UI) and navigation must be operable (e.g. making all functionality available from a keyboard)

  • Understandable: Information and operation of the user interface must be understandable (e.g. text content must be readable and easy to understand)

  • Robust: Robust content and reliable interpretation (e.g. content is compatible with current and future user agents – including assistive technologies)

The Mopinion native app forms are not yet fully WCAG compliant. To comply with WCAG guidelines, you can use webview app forms.
